Kids Aerial Arts Classes
(Aerial Silks + Trapeze + Aerial Hoop + Aerial Hammock)
Aerial Silks & Trapeze is our most popular class for children interested in trying Aerial for the first time.
Beginners will work with the 2 separated Silks tied into knots at various heights to support them up in the air whether it is performing standing shapes, being supported upside down or finding balance in sitting positions.
Kids will hang upside down on Trapeze and work on their balance in standing and sitting shapes.
As your child’s strength and confidence increases with our small classes and individual guidance from their instructor, they will progress to climbing Silks, creating footlocks and wrapping knots to support their body in the air. They will roll and spin around the Trapeze Bar.
Your child will progress to Intermediate classes when they are ready to explore drops and more challenging sequences. They can then choose which apparatus they wish to continue to progress in from : Aerial Silks, Aerial Hoop, Trapeze, Hammock.
As your child’s repertoire and stamina increases they will be invited to join our Advanced Aerial Silks Classes.
Our age groups are split as follows:
5yo Aerial Intro in our Upstairs Aerial Room
6-7yo Aerial Arts
8-9yo Aerial Arts
10-13yo Aerial Arts
14-17yo Aerial Arts
Kids Acrobatics
Acrobatics for kids aged 5+. No experience necessary.
Learn basic tumbling and gymnastics skills including how to handstand, cartwheel, bridge, forward and backwards roll.
Test your balance building group pyramids.
Strengthen your body and challenge yourself. Put all off this together to form an acrobatics routine at the end of term.
Children advance to Intermediate Acrobatics once they have the basic foundations, allowing them to progress with walkovers, tumbling, roundoffs and handsprings.
For 10-17yo we offer a Hand balancing and Contortion class which incorporates ground based strength and flexibility.
Adaptive Aerial & Circus Arts
Adaptive Aerial classes are for children with disability, or those who need a more inclusive class that caters to their individual needs.
We will introduce your child to Circus and Aerial arts. We provide a safe space for them to develop new skills, explore fun activities and gain confidence in themselves. Classes are held in our upstairs room for those who have sensory needs of less distractions, and a small group environment.
Each class is tailored to the students in the room, with elements of:
Balancing and Movement
Acrobatics

Homeschool Classes
Aerial Arts classes explore movements on Aerial Silks, Hoop and Trapeze starting low to the ground and working up as each child is ready. We discover sitting, standing and upside down shapes, then progress to wraps, rolls, and drops. Our small classes are limited to 8 students per teacher, allowing us to focus on each students individual needs, and modifying to suit. Our class goals are:
Body Awareness & Control
Co-ordination
Spatial Awareness
Strength and Flexibility
Memory retention of skills
We recommend wearing longer leggings or pants that cover the back of knees to make it comfortable to hang and add a layer of protection. Shirts that are tight or tuck in are best. Parents can drop and go, or are welcome to wait in our waiting room.
HAPY Studio offers alternate pathways if you require 1:1 private lessons, smaller groups, special needs, or adaptive aerial classes. Email admin@hapy.com.au
